Klondike Derby

On Friday, February 5th, we went to the Klondike. We met at the Victor Church at 2:30, and then headed up Piney Pass. we got there at about 3:00, and then set up camp. After that we made a Huge snow fort, with four entrances. It was about ten yards long, but more of a tunnel, not a cave. for dinner we had chili dogs and chips. In the Tenderfoot scouts' tent, we got a big barrel stove. It was hot in there! In the morning we had breakfast burritos with eggs, sausage, cheese, and salsa. at 9:00, the activities started. First we had the first aid thing, then we had compass orientation, then we had... THE KLONDIKE!!!!! We beat the record by a minute and thirty-six seconds! Then we did the fire starting contestand got second place in that. Overall, we got first place. Our prize was an axe that we named Karen.

Here we are, at the First Aid department.

Ready, Get set, GO!

"You just beat the record by two and a half minutes!"

"I'm just resting for a minute!"

Klondike Derby Sled Making

On the twenty-sixth of January we made our Klondike Derby sled, named Lisa, because one of the pairs of skis on it was owned by someone named Lisa at one point, and she wrote it on the skis. I don't have any pictures of it yet, but Chad should e-mail them to me. We made it in George Bates' garage. Everyone helped on it except for Keegan, Robbie, and Cole(they are older scouts), who weren't there.

LISA!!!! (with TyRay sitting on her!)

January 2010 Campout

Just a little while ago, we went on a camp out in a feild owned by Jay's dad(or grandpa?). It was fun, but of course, the older scouts were there, and they (almost) ruined our fun. Just kidding. For dinner Friday night we had baked beans and hot dogs, made by and Jay, Bridger, and I(Phin). Before that we went sledding down a huge hill. After dinner Jesse, Jay, Kris, and I made a HUGE jump on the hill. There were two heated tents, one for the leaders, and the other for the scouts, although I slept outside with my dad. In the morning we had eggs, sausage, pancakes, and hot chocolate. Then-foolishly- we went of the jump. As you can imagine we all got a lot of snow in our coat. No one landed safely. Then we packed up and left. This is just my summarization, and if you want a different one ask our awesome scout leaders or bodacious scouts.
Here we are unloading.
Here are our tents.

Here is the heater the leaders slept in.
We're enjoying some hot chocolate.

Its 4/26/14 and I (Bro. Roberts) am trying to consolidate and organize a bunch of photos.  I came across some more photos from this campout so I am going to post them.
